Swim course is 1000 meters. Swimmers will launch in a wave from the boat ramp, swim out to the large white balloon that is 500 Meters off shore then back. Picket boats will line the course and life guards are on hand. The Bike portion is 13.1 miles over abandoned logging roads. A Mountain bike is recommended. There will be food and water stations along the route. The transition to the run portion is in front of the general store at the Resort. The run portion is 4.1 Miles. Again on old logging roads. Timing is by ankle chip provided by Spondoro.
Hosted by the Madison Arm Resort, which is located at 5475 Madison Arm road, on the south shore of Hebgen Lake. You may access Madison Arm Road of off US highway 191 3 miles north of the Town of West Yellowstone, or off of US Highway 20, 5 miles west of West Yellowstone.
Janet Clarkson was an avid participant in many racing events. She loved bicycle competition, as well as running in marathons. She met many friends in these endeavors, and was loved and admired by many in the sports communities of San Francisco and San Diego. Janet loved a challenge and was always up to meeting them as they came along. swimming, biking, hiking, running, these were Janets favorite things to do during the summer months. She was also an avid downhill skier . Janet passed away at age 37 from Ewings Sarcoma, a bone cancer, in November of 2001. This Triathlon, held in her honor, will provide a yearly scholarship fund for the West Yellowstone High School, and funds for the American Cancer Society. Join us for of this annual fund-raising event and celebration of this remarkable woman who touched so many lives.
