The Lost Creek Hiking Trail is a natural surface trail that runs in one direction about 6.3 miles along private land. This technical trail features steep climbs and bluff-top vistas, several creek crossings, and challenging terrain. The trail is open to the public year round (except deer firearms season in November) and is maintained by the Bluff Country Hiking Club. Funds raised from this event will be used directly for trail improvements.
Special recognition will be given to those completing the race in under an hour. Age group award categories: 25 & under, 26-39, 40-54, 55 & over
Those who pre-register will be guarunteed a racing cap included in the registration fee. A limited quantity of t-shirts will be available for purchase on the day of the event, however t-shirts are not included in the price of registration.
Parking will be available in Groen Park. A bus will leave at 8:45 am to take participants to the west end of the trail. The race will start at approximately 9am.
There will be water available along the trail and snacks following the run. Trail conditions vary according to weather conditions. The trail has some rough terrain and steep climbs. Some areas of the trail narrow to a single track. The race will be in one direction only and participants will be bussed to the start of the race.
Groen Park is located on 3rd Street SW in Chatfield MN. There is one stop light in Chatfield, on Hightway 52. The park is approximately a quarter mile west of the lights, on the left. Check in will be in the park shelter.
