Be a part of the Long Beachs Premier 5/10k at the 7th Annual Wrigley River Run on June 7, 2014. Combining a friendly, community vibe with a high-quality race experience, the Wrigley River Run offers participants a professionally timed race on a fast course through the historic Wrigley Village neighborhood and along the Los Angeles River bike path.
Run, walk, or stroll in the 5K, 10K, or 15K and join in with neighbors, friends, and family members to celebrate a healthy lifestyle and support a great cause. Children ages 10 can tackle the 1K Tadpole Trot where every child gets a medal, pizza and access to the Kid Zone.
Participants and guests will also enjoy our start/finish line expo with live entertainment, plenty of beverages, fruit, and bagels for refueling as well as Long Beach's best pizza provided by Buono's Pizzeria.
The course is relatively flat and fast. Start on tree lined city streets through a historic neighborhood, up small hill to the LA River Bike Path. The 10k goes under a bridge twice which are two decent but short hills. You will pass horse stables, along the river and there are multiple musical acts to entertain you throughout the course. Both the 5k and 10k are loop courses that finish where they started at the corner of Willow and Pacific in Long Beach. Course maps at this link http://www.wrigleyriverrun.com/course.htm
