2010 Tri Latta Triathlon:

Staged at Latta Plantation Nature Preserve Park, Tri Latta is one of North Carolinas most popular events.

Because of its popularity, the 2010 event will be a two-day contest with the elite, and age group competitors competing Saturday and novice and team competitors competing Sunday.

The first day closed out in less than 24 hours and the second day closed out soon.

Tri Latta consists of a 1/2 mile swim, 18.5 mile bike ride, and 5K run.

Tri Latta is also a part of Set-Up Events North Carolina Triathlon Series and sanctioned by USA Triathlon.

The North Carolina Triathlon Series (NCTS) is the largest triathlon series in the United States. The series began in 1999 and is comprised of 15 triathlons. At the end of the year, prize money is handed out at the NCTS Awards Banquet based on a participants standing in the series.
