The USAT Splash and Dash will be held on June 28, 2014 and is a partnership between Endorphin Fitness, Peluso Open Water, and Collegiate School Aquatics Center (CSAC) to provide kids age 7-19 a safe, fun introduction to multisport. This race includes a short swim, followed immediately by a short run to the finish line.
USAT National Series - The Richmond Splash & Dash is part of a national USA Triathlon Series.
More on the series can be found at http://www.usatriathlon.org/events/youth-aquathlon-series.aspx.
Anyone Can Participate - Without the biggest barrier to entry in multsport, the bike, Splash and Dash offers kids a chance to race in a multisport format without the added experience and expense that biking requires. Therefore, any kid who knows how to swim can therefore enjoy this awesome race experience.
Course Details - The swim will be held in a 22-lane pool which was used in the 2008 Olympic Trials in Omaha, Nebraska, where world records were set. Although in a pool for safety reasons, the course will be set up as an open water format with buoys but done in a pool to reinforce safety. The run will be held on the surrounding fields on the CSAC property and be free from traffic.
Volunteer - To volunteer to make this event a great experience for every participant, please contact Parker Spencer at [email protected].
Sponsorship - We are looking for business partners who would benefit from having exposure to a multitude of active kids and their families. If interested, please contact Mark Bare at [email protected].
Race Prep Clinic - Stay tuned as we will be adding a race prep clinic to help athletes prepare for the event.
