The Wild Stampede / Legend Race
Lions, tigers, obstacles, and mud. Awaken your wild side.
The Wild Stampede is a 5k race that will be held on Sept. 21, 2013. This event is designed to be challenging and fun and will not be timed. You wont want to miss running this race with your friends and family before taking a tour of the Conservators Center to see some of the 90 exotic animals that live there, including over 30 lions, tigers, leopards, and wolves. You are guaranteed a unique, close-up view of these powerful, majestic creatures often from just 5 feet away!
Come join us and support the Conservators Center. You will be amazed at the obstacles and the animals on site.
The Conservators Center, located just north of Burlington, North Carolina,
is a nonprofit organization that preserves threatened species through
educational programs and support worldwide, responsible captive breeding,
and rescuing wildlife in need.
If you're driving from East of Mebane (cities such as
Raleigh, Durham, and Chapel Hill):
From Durham: Follow I-85 South until it joins with I-40 West.
From Raleigh: Follow I-40 West until it joins I-85 South.
From the 40/85 junction:
If you're driving from West of Mebane:
From Greensboro/Burlington: Follow 40 East/85 North.
For people who are traveling on Highway 62 North, the road sign for E. Hughes Mill Road is periodically knocked over or turned sideways. If you reach Vinson Road, you have gone one road too far.
