There are triathlons that test the limits of strength and endurance and then there are extreme competitions that work with mother nature to really try to break you down. The 6th Annual LEADMAN 10 at Silver Mountain Resort in Kellogg, Idaho is fast approaching. Tune up your equipment, grab your gear and be on the mountain April 24th, and dont forget your goggles for the mud!
The first leg is a mile long, thigh-burning decent by ski or snowboard down the last of this year's white stuff. The second leg presents an advanced-intermediate mountain bike ride, most likely through slush and mud judging by this year's snowfall. Finally, now that your legs are warmed up, make the roughly 4 mile run to the finish line at Silver Mountains Gondola Village where a barbeque and live band await the post-race celebration.
This years event, hosted by the Kellogg Rotary Club, is slated to benefit the Silver Valley Sparrow Club, a kids helping kids in medical need program. Sponsors are still needed as are volunteers.
