Fourth Annual Strong Kids Triathlon (Ages 2-15Yrs)

Starting at 9:00 AM
Located at the YMCA of Boulder Valley, Arapahoe Branch

 

Children will race in heats determined by age groups. Each heat will cater to the skill of each child. Children will begin with lap(s) of the pool, continue with lap(s) on their bikes or trikes and finish with a run around the turf field. Each child will go home with a medal, t-shirt and a great memory.

Proceeds will benefit the YMCAs scholarship fund for those in our community that need help to pay for programs.

Fee: $20 Y Member / $30 Non-member

6-7years Swim: 25 meters, Bike: 1 lap, Run: 1 lap
8-9years Swim: 50 meters, Bike: 2 laps, Run: 2 laps
10-11years Swim: 100 meters, Bike: 3 laps, Run: 3 laps
12-13years Swim: 150 meters, Bike: 3 laps, Run: 3 laps
14-15years Swim: 200 meters, Bike: 3 laps, Run: 3 laps

Bike lap about 1/3 mile.  Run laps about 1/4 mile.

Other Info:

At the Y, we work to empower kids.  And last summer, we helped 250 kids accomplish something incredible: experiencing a triathlon.  This year, the Fourth Annual Strong Kids Triathlon will bring together hundreds of local kids to swim, pedal and run and make memories.  Children race in heats organized by age, so each heat caters to the skill level of the child.  The Strong Kids Triathlon includes lap(s) in the pool, lap(s) on bicycles (or tricycles) and finishes with lap(s) around the turf field.  Each child will go home with a medal, t-shirt and a giant smile.  Proceeds from the event will benefit the Y scholarship fund for those who need assistance paying for Y programs.
