The 1/3 Mile Swim takes place at Pavillion Beach in nice calm waters.. Please note that the water temperature is usually between 67-71 degrees for this race. The swim is a Wave Start with the Elite/Pro Wave beginning at 7:30 AM and Age Group Waves to follow. There will be Lifeguard Support on Kayaks, Jet Skis and boats. We will have the exit of the swim carpeted from the sand to the transition area. Swim is Wetsuit Legal.
The bike is a two loop course through the town of Gloucester.
Route:
Riders will head straight out of transition and proceed north on Washington Street.
Riders will make a Left onto Western Avenue.
Riders will ride on Wester Avenue for about 3.5 miles.
Riders will make a Right onto Magnolia Avenue for Loop #1.
At mile 5.75 Riders will make a Right onto Essex Avenue.
Ride Essex Avenue south back to Western Avenue.
Riders will make a Right onto Western Avenue to begin Loop #2.
At mile 10.75 Riders will make a Left onto Magnolia Avenue for Loop #2.
Riders will make a Left onto Norman Avenue and merge into Hesperus Avenue.
Riders will make a Right onto Western Avenue and ride back to the Transition Area.
Riders will make a Right onto Angle Avenue and head to the back of the Transition Area.
Finish
Slow down when approaching the Transition Area and dismount your bike at the dismount line.
The run course is a two loop course in the heart of Downtown Gloucester. It's a flat and fast run, so get your legs ready. The first part of the run will take you by the Finish Line and then on Loop 2 you will enter the finishing stretch to the Finish Line on Main Street. The run course will have water, Gatorade and gu at each stop. There are two aid stations on the run course.
Route:
Runners will make a Right out of the front of the Transition Area and head onto Rogers Street.
Runners will make a Right onto Harbor Loop.
Runners will make a Right back onto Rogers Street.
Runners will make a Left onto Prospect Street.
Runners will make a Left onto Main Street.
Runners will make a Right onto Pleasant Street for Loop #.
Runners will make a Left onto Prospect Street.
Runners will make a Left onto Dale Avenue.
Runners will make a Right onto Middle Street.
Runners will make a Left onto Washington Street and head back down towards the Transition Area.
Lap 2:
Runners will make a Left back onto Rogers Street.
Runners will make a Right onto Harbor Loop.
Runners will make a Right back onto Rogers Street.
Runners will make a Left onto Prospect Street.
Runners will make a Left onto Main Street.
Runners will run down Main Street and into the Finsih Chute for the Finish just past Short Street.
