Arnie Strebe serves as the North Dakota Department of Human Services Chief Administrative Officer. Arnie also serves as the department’s Chief Financial Officer and will be responsible for leading agency-wide efforts related to administrative functions. He supervises the fiscal administration, human resources, strategic communications and logistics management operations and legal advisory divisions. Arnie previously worked for Starion Bank in Bismarck, ND as the bank’s president and chief human resources officer. Prior to that he was he chief talent and business improvement officer at Evergreen Enterprises and Plow and Hearth, a multinational, multi-million dollar wholesale, retail, ecommerce, catalogue and manufacturing business where they manufactured and sold over 17,000 different products world-wide. He also served in multiple roles with the Schwan Food company, where he led a 240 million dollar sales organization and held various positions, including the vice president of manufacturing and was known as the “Egg Roll King” of the world since the plant made anywhere from 1.4 to 2.0 million egg rolls a day. He was the founder of Schwan’s University and him and his team won many international and national awards as the best corporate university. Arnie has finished six Ironman competitions and the 2019 Ultra 520k race in Canada which is an invite only competition. He is an active volunteer and serves on numerous boards to include the Ronald McDonald’s house and the local YMCA board. He’s also the co-founder of the YMCA youth triathlon that started in 2015. Arnie is a former Army Ranger and served in the U.S. Army as a non-commissioned and commissioned officer. He earned a bachelor’s degree in education from Minot State University and a master’s degree in education from Jones International University. He’s also the author of the leadership book “Zero To Something”.
