Transition Multisports was established to serve the community by providing education and training for a healthy lifestyle through the sport of triathlon. At Transition, we believe healthy lifestyles are a family activity and can just as easily start with the kids as with the adults. Whether you are looking for a top age group finish, a fun, family activity, or a finish line to cross, Transition can get you there.

Amy served in the US Army for four years following graduation from West Point. Currently, Amy teaches physical education to grades 1-8 at Redeemer Classical School and Military History at James Madison University as an adjunct professon. Having participated in sports through college and after, Amy took up triathlon after an ACL reconstruction in 2006. Competing in sprint distance races gave way to Olympic distances and in 2010 she completed her first Half Iron Man. In 2008, Amy started a youth tri club at Redeemer as an after school program and has since coached youth triathletes on to compete in Richmond as well as the Splash and Sprint Aquathon at the Wellness Center. Each trip to Richmond has yielded athletes receiving top ten honors, a team spirit award, and great efforts from everyone.

Michelle has been teaching or coaching swimming for thirteen years. Her experiences as a collegiate athlete, D-III and Masters swim coach, and bike shop grease monkey have all contributed to her desire to participate in and coach triathlon. She competed in her first race in 2000 and began racing regularly in 2005. She has competed in sprint, Olympic, and Half Iron Man , preferring the longer distance races. In 2008, Michelle began to coach other triathletes that were participating in the Tri 101 program at the Wellness Center. The following year, she began helping with Amys youth tri club. Michelle has helped coach athletes to age group top ten times, goal time finishes, and distance goal finishes in Half Ironman and Ironman races.
