Andrew started his fitness career in 2009, working for a small personal training gym in Holladay, Utah. Andrew spent several years working on his craft as a personal trainer, learning, growing and being mentored by several different trainers and styles. He was focused on developing a diverse personal training portfolio, focusing on weight loss clients, as well as athletes looking to get stronger and more competitive in their sport. Eventually, Andrew met a client that was training for an Ironman triathlon. Andrew was intrigued. “I thought triathletes were a rare breed, crazy fit, and born specimens, made for swimming, cycling, and running. I never thought I could do that, I don’t know how to swim and I didn’t have a bike at the time.” This Ironman triathlon client Andrew was providing personal training services for became a friend, loaned him a bike, and taught him how to swim. After his first triathlon, Andrew was hooked and also curious to learn everything he could about the sport. After about 2 years of struggling to learn to coach on his own, he decided to find a mentor to help him learn this new sport and develop his own passion for coaching triathlon. Once Andrew became USAT certified he started working as a coach with a local triathlon team and has sense become USAT level 2 certified as well as Youth and Junior and Paratriathlon certified.
