Coach John specializes in Triathlon Coaching and Strength Training. He has a passion for Exercise Physiology and takes pride in building training programs that are proven by current scientific research. He has conducted original research projects, which aim to improve weak areas in Triathletes and defend against injury. Coach John has served the UWEC Triathlon Team with swim, bike and run technique training as well as strength and conditioning. Coach John has successfully trained a wide range of athletes including older adults, recreational athletes, competitive age group athletes, college age athletes, high school athletes, and paratriathletes. John also enjoys working with fellow veterans.
Coach John has been involved in sports from a young age, participating in football, basketball, and baseball. Following high school, he became a US Army Ranger, serving as a Fire Support Team Leader, and completing five combat deployments. While in the military, John discovered the sport of triathlon and has been training and racing since. He has competed in numerous endurance sports events with results including top tens, podiums, and overall wins. Coach John is a USAT All-American Triathlete.
