The Firecracker 5K Run/Walk and HEROhustle were great additions to Springfield Township's annual and wildly popular Freedom Celebration! We created the events to honor the memory of long-time Springfield Township resident Pvt. Sterling "Butch" Rahe, who left us too soon in January of 2024 and add fun during post-event festivities. The Firecracker 5K Run/Walk offers participants the opportunity to enjoy the terrain of Community Homecoming Park (including the outstanding fitness trail), compete for top prizes, and help support organizations serving veterans, area youth, Springfield High School students, and those helping to preserve the history of the greater Springfield Township area!
