Meet Format:     The JCCST Chapped Cheeks Challenge offers no qualification times or preliminaries.  All events are Open and timed finals

Location: JCC-DENVER:  350 S. Dahlia St., Denver, CO 80246

  Located off Leetsdale, across the street from King Soopers

Times:   Session 1/1, Sunday     Warm-up:    7:00AM

  Start: 8:00AM

WARM-UPS: Warm-up session will be general, no team-assigned lanes.  The last 15 minutes of the warm-up hour the starting blocks may be used for one-way racing starts. 

The pool is L-shaped & the shallow off-side may be used for continuous warm-up & cool-downs.

FACILITY:    -6-lane, 25 meter salt water pool, 5.0-12-foot depth range non- turbulent markers

   -Water depth 12 feet on start end tapering to 5 feet on turn end

   -Single watch (2-watch possible) timing

ELIGIBILITY Meet is open to all swimmers 18&Over; no USA-S or USMS registration necessary.  Age on February 17, 2013 determines age group.

ENTRIES    -Swimmers are limited 4 individual events

  -Relay swims are not included in event count and are unlimited

  -All times submitted are preferred in short-course meters

  -Entries are preferred to be submitted via Hytek or the paper seed attached and   sent to the Entry Chair.  Please attach a hard copy of entries if sent by Hytek

DECK ENTRIES   Deck entries are acceptable by 7:30AM of the day of the meet.  Deck entries must be approved by the Meet Referee.  The maximum number of events per day rule still applies

ENTRY FEES   -$20.00 flat fee regardless of number of entries.  No charge for relays

-All fees benefit the JCC-Denver Swim Team

-Swimmers may enter as a team unit or unattached

-Individual swimmers will have the opportunity to join with others to form relays before or during the meet

RULES -The rules & procedures of Colorado Swimming will apply

-The meet events shall be seeded slow to fast

-Events may be combined at the discretion of the Meet Referee

    -Each event shall be open (all-age) and seeded according to time.  NTs (no times) will be randomly seeded in the first heats

   -The event results will be arranged according to age as the meet goes on and posted as soon as is feasible.  Results may also be emailed to swimmers/teams as arranged with the meet host

   -All events shall be timed finals

RELAYS   Relays may be submitted to the Entry Chair prior to the meet start or prior to each relay event commencement.  Every opportunity will be given for all swimmers to swim in a relay even if it necessitates a  double-up.  i.e., One swimmer swim twice in a relay.

MEET LIMIT    Maximum of 200 swimmers or as limited by session length.  Every effort will be made for all swimmers to be able to compete

AGE GROUPS 18-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-40, 41-50, 51-60, 60&O

AWARDS    No awards at this meet.  Camaraderie & a sense of accomplishment is acceptable.  Each entrant will receive a Survival Ribbon

CHECK-IN   No check-ins required.  Each event will be announced and swimmers may report directly to the blocks

   No-shows  will not be penalized.  (No Declared False Start Rule)

SPECIAL    -There is NO SMOKING anywhere in the facility

 INFORMATION -There is continuous warm-up/cool-down in the l-shaped portion of the pool.

   -Pool is outdoors, salt water.

  -NO open swim or horseplay please!  ;)

-Use of audio or visual recording devices, including a cell phone, is not permitted in the changing areas, restrooms or locker rooms

-On deck changing is not allowed

-No on deck photography from behind the starting platforms

CONCESSIONS   Coffee, hot cocoa and various hot and cold kosher food will be available for sale.  All proceeds from concessions benefit the JCC-Denver Swim Team

MEET RESULTS Meet results will be continually posted if possible and made available after the meet or emailed to entrants by arrangement
