2013 Tri-U-Mah Indoor Triathlon:

  • The University of Minnesota's 8th annual Tri-U-Mah indoor triathlon consists of a 30 minute swim, 30 minute bike and 30 minute run portion and will take place will take place in the University Aquatic Center (Dorothy L. Shepard Natatorium) and the University Recreation Center.
  • These facilities are connected, so transitions are easy.
  • Each heat consists of 10 participants.
  • Each heat will have 10 minutes of transition time from swim/bike and bike/run sections.
  • One heat is dedicated to teams, which can consist of either 2 or 3 members.
  • Teams will start in the 7:25am heat.
  • The first of the individual participants start at 8:00am.
  • Champions are determined by total distance traveled.
  • Volunteers will record the total laps (swimming) and miles (biking and running) completed during the event.
  • The total distance traveled will determine the champions for each age group; 18-24, 25-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50+.
  • Overall male and female winner will also be awarded.
  • Online registration does not allow for the entry of all team members, only the team captain's.

    • Course Information:



  • The swim portion of the event will take place in the Dorothy L. Shepard Natatorium. Pool lanes span 25 yds
  • Both the bike and run portions will be held in the University Recreation Center
  • Precor stationary bikes will be used during the bike portion, and are outfitted with both a cage and SPD compatible pedal
  • Participants will be running on Woodway treadmills
