The 2025 Mountain Man Events:
Mountain Man is a family-run grassroots event. It is hard to beat the beautiful weather, clean air, and amazing views on this course. Northern Arizona is famous for high altitude training and playing in the pines. From beginner to pro you can enjoy the scenery, test yourself, and achieve a true accomplishment by experiencing Mountain Man.
We offer a full weekend of events at Deuces Wild in Show Low, AZ in June, then Super Sprint, Sprint and Olympic distances in Flagstaff, AZ in July, and Olympic and Long Course (70.4 mi) in Flagstaff in August. This is an iconic triathlon of the West with over 40 years of tradition, and we work hard to keep it a unique, small town event. Come experience Northern Arizona with Mountain Man Triathlons!

Course Information:
This is the City of Flagstaff Reservoir: Upper Lake Mary. Lake temperature is typically 68-71° F on race morning. Wetsuits OK.
The Bike - Out and back course on paved roads with wide bike shoulders. Sprint course is relatively flat; the Olympic course has a climb rewarded with great views of Mormon Lake and the San Francisco Peaks. Race numbers must be attached to your bike frame. Cyclists are personally responsible for the proper working condition of their bike. Bike helmets are required. Bike elevation graph HERE.
The Run - Out and back run on paved roads along beautiful Lake Mary. The Sprint course is a flat out and back; the Olympic course climbs “the hill” (385′) and is otherwise flat. Race numbers must be worn and visible from the front. Water aid stations are every 1.5 miles. Traffic will not be stopped for this event, except at the intersections and turnarounds, and then at the discretion of the safety personnel.
