_The 2023 Veterans Day 5K Beach Run:
Join us for a 5K Beach Run this Veterans Day to support veterans by bringing awareness to suicide prevention – 22 a day!!! As in, 22 veterans take their lives each day.
This double-digit number has shaped how Americans think about military veterans and their daily struggles. This staggering number has become a cry for advocates trying to call attention to suicide among veterans, especially U.S. combat-injured veterans who served in Iraq and Afghanistan.
Many injured U.S. combat-injured veterans struggle with physical disabilities including loss of limbs and mental health issues such as Post-traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI). Fairways for Freedom® provides the opportunity for reintegration back into society through many holistic initiatives including the game of golf.
This Veterans Day, Fairways for Freedom® is hosting the Veterans Day 5K Beach Run to raise funds for LOCAL U.S. combat-injured veterans the opportunity to heal. For more information on Fairways for Freedom® visit their website click here.
