_ The 2023 Cheesy Pretzel 5K and 1 Mile Walk:

The Cheesy Pretzel 5k is back for 2023!  The Cheesy Pretzel 5k & 1 Mile Walk is a USATF certified (USATF# 12023-JW) 5k event winds through the Promenade Bolingbrook and surrounding neighborhoods.  All participants in the 5k and 1 mile walk will receive an order of Bar Louie's Pretzel Bites and Cheese!  5k and 1 mile walk participants registered by September 29th will receive a moisture wicking long sleeve shirt. For 2023, all participants who complete the 5k or 1 mile walk will receive an awesome custom finisher's medal at the finish line! Strollers and walkers are welcome to join the event. Stroller riders are free but will not receive a race shirt or finisher's medal. Registered runners must be at least 5 years old.

Participants in the 1 Mile Walk will follow a course through the Promenade property. The walk is an untimed event.

Why is This Event Important?
The Cheesy Pretzel 5K Run/ 1 Mile Walk is a fundraising event necessary to help raise funds needed to support struggling teens through industry leading programs and services.  Our Charity of Choice program helps you raise money for your favorite local charitable organization. Choose to be a fundraiser and collect pledges to benefit one of several charitable organizations in and around Bolingbrook or make a donation when you register.

5k Registration Fee:
$30, if registered by August 31, 2023. at 11:59 pm
$35, if registered by October 5, 2023 at 04:59 pm
$40 on race day

1 Mile Walk Registration Fee:

Pre-registration closes on October 5 at 4:59 pm CT. Race day registration on October 8th will be available beginning at 6:30 am ($40 for 5k & 1 Mile Walk). The Cheesy Pretzel 5k and 1 Mile Walk runs rain or shine. *No refunds available.

Event Schedule:
6:30 am - Day of Packet Pickup & Day of Registration Opens
7:30 am - Warm-up
8:00 am - 5k start time
8:05 am - 1 Mile Walk start time
9:15 am - Awards ceremony

There will be an awards presentation for the 5k event following the finish of the race. Trophies presented to the fastest overall male and female runners.  First Place Medals will be presented to the top male and top female finisher in each age category. (10 and under, 11-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75+).

5k and 1 mile walk participants registered by September 29 will receive a moisture wicking long sleeve shirt and a finisher's medal. Although we will try and accommodate, because of current shipping difficulties, we cannot guarantee shirts or medals to registrants after this deadline.

Post-race refreshments will be provided.

Advance Packet Pick Up:
We are offering Packet Pick-Up times before the event at the Bar Louie (619 E Boughton Rd #A, Bolingbrook, IL 60440). Avoid race day lines, and come by to pick up your shirt, race bib, free raffle ticket, and other materials.
