_The 2023 Youngstown YMCA Spring Classic Sprint Triathlon & Duathlon:
The Spring Classic Sprint Triathlon is a race that has been a staple on many triathlete's race calendars. The Spring Classic is a great race for beginner triathletes who might be nervous about the open water idea yet provides a competitive environment for seasoned triathletes. The race is well organized, supported and sure to become one of your go to races season after season.
Course Information:
The Spring Classic Sprint Triathlon actually consists of several different events. The main event, of course, is the triathlon. This race consists of a 500 yd pool swim, a 14 mile bike leg and a 5K run. You can enter as an individual or as a team if you're not confident on one or more of the segments. Teams are men's, women's or mixed and compete together in the same category for overall awards.
The Duathlon is another option. The Duathlon consists of a 2 mi run, 14 mile bike and a 5K run. This is a great opportunity for those who would rather not get their feet wet (pun intended) yet want to challenge their endurance.
