_ The 2023 Spring Duathlon Series Race #1:

Welcome to the 2023 Spring Duathlon Series! 

IN-PERSON RACING:

This "all pavement" duathlon (run/bike/run) is a blast for families, with a race distance for everyone! The race starts at Kincaid Park near the chalet, at the top of the Coastal Trail with a run around the old biathlon loop on paved trails for the kids, adults will be running on a mix of pavement and trails. The transition area is near the start/finish line followed. Kids will bike around the new biathlon range loop, followed by one final run around the old biathlon loop. Adults bike on Raspberry Road out to the "Welcome to Kincaid" sign then take a hard right onto the multi-use trail back to the start/finish line. Adults finish up with a 2nd run on the 1 lap run course. This duathlon is the only on pavement duathlon in Alaska. 

WHO: Kids ages 4 up through adults

WHERE: Kincaid Park, start is at the top of the Coastal Trail behind the chalet

WHEN: May 16th, May 30th, June 13th, 2023. See time table and distances below! 

WHAT: Running & Biking multi-sport race! Any kind of bike is welcome. Kids will a specific transition area where they can lay their bike down on the ground OR use a kickstand. Adults will have a separate transition area with transition bars for racking your bike (NO NEED TO BRING BIKE STAND!).

VIRTUAL RACING:

This race is meant for those that are not comfortable or able to join us in-person for our bi-weekly live race event but still want to be apart of the excitement. 

WHO: Anyone ages 4 through adults. YES, you can do BOTH the live and virtual race but you will need to complete the race a 2nd time during the virtual race window.

WHERE: ANYWHERE you would like but do know that the live course will have markings available for virtual races to participate on Wednesday through Tuesday following the in-person race. 

WHEN: May 17-23rd, May 31-June 6th, June 14-20th. MUST submit results by the last day of every virtual race by 11:59pm or racers results will not count. 

WHAT: Running & Biking multi-sport race! Any kind of bike is welcome. You need to complete all 3 races back to back with the transition included in order to consider your race results complete!
