Ann Arbor YMCA Indoor Triathlon : |
Triathlon : 15 minutes each of Swim, Bike and Run |
This is the perfect event for first-time tri-athletes or anyone looking for a challenge. Unlike a traditional triathlon where competitors swim, bike and run until they reach a set distance, an indoor triathlon has participants swim, bike and run for a fixed time, trying to complete the greatest distance possible during each event.
THE EVENT
Participants will start in waves of six people every 20 minutes with the first wave beginning at 8:00 a.m. Each wave will have 15 minutes to swim followed by a five minute transition period in which participants change into dry clothes and head up to Studio D for the bike portion of the race. After cycling for 15 minutes, participants will have two minutes to get to the treadmills before completing the final 15 minutes of the race there.
Register online or drop off a completed entry form with signed release of liability and entry fee at the Ann Arbor YMCA. No registrations will be accepted after 5:00 p.m. on Friday, March 9th. Entry fees: $25 members, $45 community members
Up to three people may be on a relay team. For example: one to swim, one to bike and one to run, or any combination of two. For online registration, only one person needs to register, but (s)he will need to know the first and last names of their teammates as well as their t-shirt sizes and which leg of the event each person will do. For paper registration, each member of the relay team must complete their individual registration form. Be sure to include the name of the person for each event (swim, bike, or run) and the team name. No registrations will be accepted after 5:00 p.m. on Friday, March 9th. Entry fees: $40 per relay team

We recommend you practice using the Keiser bikes before the day of the event.
You may use headphones for any part of the event.
