FREE TRIAL RACE All are welcome! Thank you all for your support for The Great Loon Triathlon. We had a meeting with the timing company to discuss options as our registrations numbers are not where we want them to be to have a competitive and successful race for everyone. Now we are offering a FREE TRIAL RACE.
We have decided to postpone the triathlon to 2023 allowing us more time to promote the event for participants and sponsors.
However, some of the athletes have decided to meet in July 24 at 8 am and run a FREE TRIAL RACE to check out the course and give us feedback. Athletes will be timing themselves and providing their own support. You are all welcome to join us.
The Race Committee
Welcome all families and athletes to beautiful Lincoln, Maine. Our event will start at Lake Mattanawcook at Prince Thomas Park with a 1500 meter SWIM (.93 miles), transition to a 40K (24.8 mile) BIKE, then a 10K (6.2 mile) run. Out and back segments are on Route 2. Course profile will go through some of the most scenic views in the area. The Prince Thomas Park is a perfect setting to base the event and provide a central transitional area and great viewing area for spectators. In addition to our event, the Town of Lincoln will be hosting it’s annual LOONFEST event during the weekend for you and your family & friends to enjoy. There is plenty of nearby parking, affordable lodging, campground and dining make this a destination for the entire family. Come to this challenging inaugural event “THE GREAT LOON TRIATHLON”. Minimum Age Requirement: 18 Years Old
Accuracy for USAT certified courses Olympic distance is Swim 1500 meters (.93 mile), Bike 40 Kilometer (24.8 miles), Run 10 Kilometers (6.2 miles).
USAT certified course Sprint distance Swim is 750 meter (.46 mile), Bike 20 Kilometer (12.4 miles), Run 5 Kilometers (3.1 miles).
