PACKET PICKUP: We encourage everyone to come to packet pickup Friday Evening at the Norfolk YMCA in Norfolk, NE from 6:00PM-8:00PM Friday Night. There will be limited packet pickup Saturday Morning. Please printout out your entry confirmation from AllSportCentral.com and bring it with you to packet pickup.
NO RACE DAY REGISTRATION. Pre-registration closes Wednesday of race week at 11:59AM. Late registrants will be organized by bib number be put at the end of all the other entrants no matter what their swim time.
TRIATHLON RULES: Participants must wear helmet with helmet numbers visible from front. Bike numbers must be visible from side and can go over cross bar or under seat. Chest numbers must be visible from front the can be attached with race belt or pinned to your shirt. Bodymarking for swim on both arms and legs visible from side. If wearing wetsuit put participant number on swim cap sides. Course map is available in your race packet. Assigned Chip MUST be on ankle using a velcro strap during all phases of the event. Chip and strap will be returned at finish line. Please make sure your transition area is setup, bikes racked, participant numbers on, and body marked before the pre-event meeting starts at 7:30AM. Transition area closes at 7:30AM.
DANGEROUS WEATHER: In case of dangerous weather the race will be temporarily be halted and you will not be allowed to go out on the course after you complete the leg you are currently on until the weather has cleared. We will make a best effort basis to adjust times in this situation but our primary concern is your safety. We are here to have a good time and enjoy the event.
USAT: This is NOT a USAT sanctioned event.
SWIM LONG COURSE 300 METER SNAKE SWIM: Participants will go in the water in BIB order according to thier estimated swim times fastest to slowest. Your actual start times will be posted online and at packet pickup. Swimmers must be in the pool area in line 20 minutes prior to their pre-assigned start time. If you miss your start time you will go to the back of the line. Swimmers will complete 50 meters per lane making sure to advance over a half lane after completing each pool length. Swimmers will then go under the lane divider after completing a full lap and advance over one lane until you are finished. If you catch the swimmer in front of you tap them on the foot and they will need to grab the lane rope and let you pass. Please mark arms and legs with participant numbers using a black marker. Chip MUST be on ankle using a velcro strap during all phases of the event.
TRANSITION ONE (T1) - SWIMIN TO BIKEOUT: Bikes must be racked in the transition area. If you are unable to find a space notify a race official. Swim time will end when crossing the SWIM IN mat when entering the transition area. T1 starts when crossing SWIMIN mat after swim and T1 ends when crossing BIKEOUT mat with bike. Run bike over the timing mats in the corner prior to mounting your bike. You are not allowed to ride your bike in the transition area.
BIKE: Place bike number over the cross bar so that it is visible by event officials on either side of your bike. Place helmet number on the front of your helmet so that it is visible by event officials. The roads are not closed so watch for vehicles on the road. For your own safety bike helmets will be required to participate in this years event.
TRANSITION TWO (T2) - BIKEIN TO RUNOUT: Bike time ends when crossing BIKE IN mat near main entrance. Dismount bike as you approach the transition area and run the bike over the mats and into the transition area and run your bike to your assigned area. Place participant number (BIB) on front of shirt or put on race number belt.
RUN: Run begins when crossing the RUN OUT mats and finishes when you cross the finish line. When finishing make sure the back up timers see your BIB number when crossing the finish line. Return your chip/strap at the end of the finish chute.
