_ The 2022 YFC Seeley Lake Challenge Triathlon/Duathlon:

Overview:
This is a great race to start your triathlon or duathlon racing career. The triathlon is in open water, but wet suits are not necessary as the water is a reasonable temperature. The running course in mostly on a trail with shade and the bike ride is on a paved county road. All racers are chipped including the kids and finish times are immediately available for printing and on devices.

Everyone must park at Pyramid Mountain Lumber. There is no parking at the race site, and parking on Boy Scout or the neighbors driveways is not allowed. You may drop-off at the end of the road and then park and bike back to Riverpoint Campground or catch the shuttle.

We hope everyone stays for the awards ceremony where the winners stand on Olympic style boxes and get their medal.

Included in the racers fees are: parking, shuttle, T-shirt (if registered before July 15), race chip, snacks and medals for winners.

SPECTATORS: FREE spectator parking and shuttle.  Please feel free to bring folding chairs. Spectators must stay out of the transition area by using the trail from the spectator area at the finish line to the beach. 

Course Information:
The Triathlon has two swim length to accommodate novices (300 yards) and those more experienced (600 yards) and a new 150 yd swim this year. We have moved to a 10 second staggered start from the transition area. This has solved the congestion at the start of the race and since everyone is chipped there is no penalty for when you start.. 

The Duathlon uses the same mostly off road course for the run and the paved county road for the bike portion.

The Kids Triathlon starts when most of the adults have completed the course so families can watch. The kids use the outside of the swim markers as their course and they can stop and hold on if they need to, and life vests are acceptable. Their bike ride is on the first half of the adult run  trail that is mowed before the race. The run is an out and back and they cross the same finish line as the adults.
