There is no easy way to say this. We have been informed by the management of the Glimmerglass State Park that there will be NO Cooperstown Triathlon going forward.
NO reason was given and NO opportunity for discussion after repeated requests.
When Wilson Endurance Sports took over this long running, successful event from ATC Endurance in 2019 we held a wonderful event and the Park was excited to reserve the 2020 date for us. Then of course Covid came and obviously there was no racing. The date was moved to 2021 and set on the Glimmerglass State Park calendar as well as our own. In January of 2021 we were contacted that the NYS Parks and Recreation Department would not be issuing ANY event permits in 2021 due to Covid. The June 11, 2022 date was confirmed by State Park officials. Just a few weeks ago we were contacted and told that we would not be able to hold the race. Period. For any dates or years going forward."
