_ The 2021 Niantic Bay 10K: Charlie’s Run
The Niantic Bay 10k is an out and back course, that begins at McCook Point Park and makes its way through the Crescent Beach neighborhood, then into Old Black Point. This scenic route is mostly flat and includes beautiful views of the Niantic Bay and local beaches, a great run to kick off the summer!
There will be no post race festivities, prizes will be picked up at event sponsor: Coastal Gifts on Main St. Proceeds from this race benefit East Lyme Youth Services, and enables them to offer a free after school program daily throughout the school year.
Our friend and East Lyme Parks and Recreation commission member Charlie Fenick passed away in 2020. Charlie had run this race every year of its existence and we felt it is right to honor Charlie by making this “Charlie’s Run”. Those of us who knew Charlie know he was a gentle soul with a huge heart, while being a fierce competitor on every race course he ran on. Cheers to our friend Charlie!
