MPCS Triathlon Details:
 
200-yard swim (UL Bourgeois pool)
8-mile bike (2 loops along Cajundome Blvd) 
2-mile run (1 lap along Cajundome Blvd)  
 
It is perfect for all fitness levels. At this time, only 175 spots are available (50% capacity). If the state of Louisiana transitions into the next phase, UL Lafayette may allow for more open slots for participants (350 max). If you are interested in participating, sign up now as these spots fill up quickly. Participants can sign up as an individual or a relay team. Relays consist of either a 2-person or 3-person relay team.

Packet Pick-Up:

All Triathlon participants can pick up packets from 12-6 pm on Friday, August 27th, outside UL Lafayette's Bourgeois Hall or Saturday morning at the race.  Packets will be available on race day, but it is strongly encouraged that all participants pick up prior to race day.

(T- shirt sizes are first come first serve.)   

Triathlon Schedule: 

5:00am - Transition area opens (outside UL Bourgeois Hall)
7:00am - Staggered swim start (UL Bourgeois Hall)

Note: We will not have an awards presentation this year. All participants are encouraged to leave after the completion of the race. The results will be posted on the race website, as well as emailed to all participants.  Winners will be contacted to retrieve their medal or plaque at the Miles Perret Cancer Services office.

Race Reminder: For the safety of all participants, bike helmets are REQUIRED and no headphones or headsets are allowed on the race course.   

TRIATHLON PARKING DETAILS:

All parking is at Cajun Field/Football Stadium. Participants are to park vehicles and walk bikes to transition area outside of Bourgeois Hall (bldg in red). Dropping off in front of Cajundome Blvd is prohibited. The following intersections will be blocked off 30 mins before race. (Times are subject to change per police) Souvenir Gate at Coliseum Rd., W. Congress St. at St. Mary Blvd., W. Congress at Bertand, Cajundome Blvd. at W. Congress St., Cajundome Blvd. at Johnston St., Cajundome Blvd. at Reinhardt, Cajundome Blvd. at Bertrand, Cajundome Blvd. at Devalcourt, Cajundome Blvd. at Eraste Landry, Eraste Landry at Robert Lee Circle, Eraste Landry at Macon.

COVID-19 Safety Protocols (Effective March 3, 2021): 

To comply with UL Lafayette’s current safety guidelines, all spectators, volunteers, and event staff will be asked to wear a mask and practice social distancing throughout the course of the event. Race participants should wear a mask prior to starting the race and upon completion of the race. Disposable masks will be provided to those who need one. Social distancing will be monitored, and several sanitation stations will be available to all.  Minors will be allowed one adult/guardian to accompany them to the transition areas. All other family and friends will not be allowed in the transition areas; these spaces will be limited only to participants to allow for proper social distancing.  Participants will be required to complete a COVID questionnaire at packet pick-up. If you are experiencing any COVID-19 symptoms, you will be asked to stay home.

Refund Policy:

Should social distancing guidelines prevent MPCS from hosting an on-site triathlon, this race will convert to a virtual duathlon. In this instance, no refunds will be given and updated race information will be sent to all registrants.  

We reserve the right to cancel in extreme weather circumstances. In that event, there will be no refunds, rather, your entry fee will be used as a donation to Miles Perret Cancer Services.
