 As we move forward into 2021,

we truly hope the racing world will begin to open back up. Below is our COVID-19 information that is set from 2020. As of right now, we do not know what the status of the pandemic will be for this summer, but we do know one thing…. the team at Active Central MN will continue to put on stellar events, and continue to meet all CDC and MDH guideline standards to provide an incredible, safe, and competitive race for you in 2021. Our No Risk Refund Policy (noted below) will remain in effect to make sure we continue to take care of athletes as we grow these events. Thank you!

The Buffalo Triathlon is on in 2021! As we approach the event, we will continue to monitor any concerns around COVID-19 and respond to any needs. We will work with recommendations from CDC and MDH to put processes in place to ensure a safe, fun, and challenging event in 2021. In 2020, we successfully operated some incredible triathlons with the Graniteman Clearwater and Big Lake Tri’s. We are happy to be leading the midwest in safe racing protocols that can help us continue to race safely and competitively, even during these tough times. 

We are excited to host an event in 2021 that will be compliant with all safe racing protocol guidelines! We have enhanced our cleaning opportunities, extended bike racks, extended the time frame of the race, operate the event as time trial starts, etc. and of course, will remain in the beautiful outdoors! We will continue to update as we announce a formal plan for the racing protocol in 2021. 

Active Central MN is offering a NO RISK REGISTRATION POLICY for 2021, meaning if we cancel an event, or you need to cancel your registration for any reason, we will offer either a free deferment to another race, or a full refund.  Since 2004, the Buffalo Triathlon has been one of the nations favorite triathlons.  Starting in the sand and ending on the stage at Sturges Park, the Buffalo Triathlon will always send you home happy and motivated for the remainder of your triathlon season!  With a rich history that runs deep into the community, the race continues to give back to the community of Buffalo and surrounding communities through its paid volunteer program, and invites people from all over the region to see all that beautiful Buffalo Minnesota has to offer.
