Triathlon : Run 3.1 Miles, Bike 15.5 Miles, Hike 2.1 Miles |
_ The 2021 Bluff Land Tri:
The event brings in participants with a great range of abilities from experienced triathletes to individuals who have a goal of finishing a triathlon for the first time. Ages also range from pre-teen to senior citizens. We have families and friends do it together year after year. If you are doing this for the first time you can rest assured that we have volunteers spaced along the route to assist and encourage. Our volunteers cheer for everyone! Yes, even if you are the last remaining person on the course, our volunteers will be there at the end to help you celebrate your achievement.
3.1 mile run –
• Starts at Creekside Park and goes toward Houston on the paved Root River Trail.
15.5 mile bike –
• Starts at Creekside Park and goes past Peterson on the paved Root River Trail, and returns along the same route.
2.1 mile hike –
• Starts at Creekside and goes to the top of Magelssen Bluff on a hiking path and back down
Creekside Park is right off Highway 43 in Rushford. Look for the baseball and football fields. It is to the south of the fields.
Two ways to participate: as an individual doing all three legs of the course or as a three-person relay with one person doing each leg.
The course for biking and hiking is relatively flat. The hike is up the side of the bluff using a path of grass and woodchips.
Event is chip timed.
