TIME LIMITS

Double Anvil™ solo and team athletes have 36 hours: 7 p.m. Saturday
Double Anvil™ Aquavelo athletes have 26 hours: 9 a.m. Saturday and Duathlon athletes 34 hours: 7:00 p.m. Saturday
Single Anvil™ athletes have 17 hours: 12:00 p.m. Friday
Single Anvil™ Aquavelo athletes have 13 hours: 8:00 p.m. Friday and Duathlon athletes have 16 hours to complete the race: 12:00 p.m. Friday

Once the race begins, the clock continues, even if you rest for a couple of hours. These races are formatted the same as other triathlons, so you will complete the 4.8/2.4 mile swim first followed by the 224/112 mile bike and finish with the 52.4/26.2 mile run, or appropriate for the Aquavelo / Duathlon.

These races are sanctioned by both USAT (United States Triathlon Association) and IUTA (International Ultra Triathlon Association…solo Double/Triple Anvil only).

One Day license for USAT is $15.00.
The IUTA fee has been paid in the entry fee.

CANCELLATION/REFUND POLICY

Up until application deadline you can either put your monies towards next years race or get a refund minus $50.00. After the Application Deadline you can put your monies towards next year’s race and have $75.00 deducted or get your monies refunded minus a $100.00 fee.

RESERVATION FEE

We will no longer reserve a spot for you without an application and down payment. To reserve a spot, send in the application and $250.00, the final payments will still have to be made by the payment cutoff dates stated on the application form. Any refunds will fall under the Cancellation/Refund Policy.

PAYMENT

You can either send a Check (U.S. Dollars) made out to Steve Kirby; or use the following apps: Venmo, Samsung/Apple Pay, Zelle, Revolut, or Paypal (use [email protected] for all), for Google Pay use [email protected] to pay for your entry fee and any other fees associated with the race (shelter, rental, food for your support crew, etc).

If you use PayPal, please select “I’m sending money to a friend” on the 2nd screen so you don’t pay a transaction fee. Additionally, if you do not want to be charged a fee for using a credit card, select the option to pull the funds from your bank account. If you decide to use a credit card, please be sure to have the fee paid by the sender and not charged to Steve Kirby.

– For Doubles finishing the race you get a Placement or Finishers Award, a IUTA Finishers Medallion, and a high quality Patagonia long sleeve technical shirt with race logo and 2021 Finisher on left breast.
– Single athletes will get a Finishers Award and a high quality long sleeve technical shirt with race logo and 2021 Finisher on left breast.
Above items are subject to change. For the women, we get your t-shirt in a regular/unisex cut and the long sleeve tech shirt will be in a woman’s cut.

PREREQUISITES

Double Anvil™ triathlon and Aquavelo/Duathlon athletes must be at least 21 years of age and have completed a IRON/FULL distance triathlon or other significant accomplishments. Recommended to have ultra distance swims, bikes and runs as well.

Single Anvil™ triathlon and Aquavelo/Duathlon athletes must be at least 18 years of age and we highly recommend having completed a Half IRON/Half distance triathlon or other significant accomplishments. We also recommended to have some type of ultra distance swims, bikes and runs as well.

ACCOMMODATIONS

(4 Nov 2020…All the Camp Cabins have been reserved). There are cabins inside the park, about 2 miles from the AnVillage. These cabins have 2 rooms, one with a Queen bed and one with two Twin beds, and there is a pull out sofa couch in the family room. Two bathrooms, kitchen with refrigerator, stove and microwave. Large screened-in porch.

There are also Glamping Tents (nice tents are set up with a queen mattress with linens. Up to two additional air mattresses may be added for an additional charge. Each tent is air-conditioned) available thru Air BnB, they are located next to the RV Campground. But beware of some negative revues some people have left, about there being mold in 2 of the 3 tents. We can see that happening as it is Florida and with the heat and humidity and they are a heavy canvas material. Webpage for the Glamping Tents

WETSUITS / SKINSUITS / SPEEDSUITS

The swim is in Lake Louisa itself, starting from the beach area at Lake Louisa State Park. The course will be an out and back to the middle of the lake 1,056 feet/322 meters then back for a total of 2,112 feet/644 meters, doing this clock-wise, 12 loops total. The water temp is appx 65 degrees, so wetsuits are recommended. We will put you in groups of different colored swim caps and different person timing will monitor a certain group of colors. Basically, as long as your wetsuit is not more than 5mm thick, it can be used.
