This Swim-Run Prologue is a #GoKinetic, no holds barred sprint extravaganza featuring a 250 meter swim followed by a 1 mile run. Athletes must do 3 loops of the course and can wear a wetsuit and shoes the whole time, or not. Wear paddles or carry a swim buoy. It’s totally up to you and the only rule is that if you start with it, you have to finish with it, you can not drop anything on the ground and retrieve later. If you drop something on the course you may get penalized and our staff will pick it up. No transitions, no bikes, fastest time wins. Race Starts at 5pm and course closes at 6pm.
Course Information:
Swim Course: The 1.2 mile swim takes place in the cool, crystal clear waters of Lake Wallenpaupack. Featuring an in-water start and dock finish it is a rectangular course with yellow triangle turns and orange sighting buoys every 75 meters. Nestled in the NE corner of the lake you’ll be surrounded by forested hillsides and an outstanding water safety team. We expect the water temperature to be in the mid to upper 60’s.
Bike Course: The 54 mile Long Course bike features rural, well paved roads that will take athletes along scenic trout filled rivers and forested climbs. This 2 loop course features 3500′ of elevation as well as a 9 mile, downhill dragstrip along the Lackawaxen River. Be on the look out for bald eagles, black bears and trout fisherman. At miles 14 and 38.5 athletes get to test their VO2 max with 650′ of climbing inside 2 miles, it’s a good time.
Run Course: The 13.1 mile run course takes place entirely on the Wallenpaupack Lakeside Trail and route 507 around the lake. Ranging from 6-8’wide throughout, it is a lightly rolling, meandering path along the lake with a packed gravel, mulch and pavement.
