The 2021 REAL Mountain Bike Triathlon 

The REAL Mountain Bike Triathlon has two distances for Off-Road Triathletes to enjoy. The Super Sprint MTB Triathlon has a 400 yard swim-8 mile mountain bike-2 mile run course. The REAL MTB Triathlon has a half mile swim-16 mile mountain bike-4 mile run course. Both swims are in Folsom Lake and the bike and run courses are on scenic single track trails around the lake. 

Included with your race entry is a safe, fantastic and very well marked course, a post race hot meal, raffle prizes, awards five-deep in each age group for the REAL MTB Triathlon and Custom REAL MTB Souvenir Gear Bags for each competitor. 

The REAL MTB Triathlon starts with the swim in Folsom Lake, water temperature around 60 degrees. Wetsuits are permitted for all athletes. Both bike courses are on single track trails around the lake with one loop for the Super Sprint, and two loops for the REAL. The course contains mixed terrain of single track, downhills, climbs, sand, and packed decomposed granite. The 4-mile run has a mix of trails and roads - along with some fun hills.

Relay Teams for The REAL Mountain Bike Triathlon consist of one swimmer, one cyclist and one runner. Entry fee includes three finisher souvenirs, athlete goody bags and post race meals. Awards for Relay Teams will be first overall in Male, Female and Coed divisions.

Awards for The REAL MTB Triathlon will be given FIVE-deep in each ten-year age group and division. Relay Team awards will be for the Top team in each Division of Male, Female and Coed. Awards for the Super Sprint MTB Triathlon will be THREE-deep in each ten year age group. Awards for the REAL Trail Run will be THREE deep in each ten year age group. 

Packet pick-up will be available at the race site on race morning from 7 am to 9 am.

Refund and Transfer Information

TBF Racing has a No Refund policy on all of our events. A Refund requested prior to race week will be given a TBF Race credit for the amount of the entry fee minus a $25 processing fee. Credits are not given during race week. Transfers are allowed from one TBF Racing event to another within a one-year time frame. There is a $25 transfer fee. Transfers are not allowed during race week. ALL TBF Racing events are held Rain or Shine.
