_ The 2021 K-Town On The River Sprint & Olympic Triathlons:
As our South Knoxville community is growing PBR wants to celebrate the addition of Suttree's Landing on the south side as becoming a staple in the river scape!
Come TRI with PBR as we traverse through the South Knoxville beauty for both Sprint and Olympic distance races!
The sprint (starting at 7am) will take place off the Suttree's Landing dock making a complete square, coming back in for a brilliant exit to transition.
The bike ride will head up Island Home to Sevierville Pike and cross under Gov. John Sevier Hwy to Kimberlin Heights. It will then take a spectacular turn onto Burnette's Creek and follow along the shaded cool creekside back to Island Home for 14 miles.
Once back to transition the run will take off along the riverside through the historic Island Home neighborhood onto the Will Skelton Greenway. Expect a little elevation, or as we say "Gently Rolling Hills" on this run, but in the shade and along the breezy river. Cruise back to the finishline in Suttree's boardwalk and celebrate with Knoxville's finest!
The olympic distance (starting at 7:30) will take a nice downstream swim from Ijams to Suttree's and head out on the same bike path, except this distance will follow to Hendrons Chapel road and turn around at the Johnson University campus while taking in its beauty. Once back the run will follow the same path and make it all the way past Meads Quarry parking and follow its way back to Suttree's Landing as well.
All routes are still up for approval and subject to small changes but are set for the most part. We will post the routes after KPD approves.
