_ The 2020 Fever River Adventure Triathlon:
The Fever River Adventure Triathlon is a novice/intermediate run, bike, and kayak triathlon course through the beautiful Galena, Illinois countryside. This triathlon is a partnership between Kreider Services and Fever River Outfitters. Kreider Services provides meaningful support to people with disabilities to live, work, and participate in their community and strives for true community inclusion. Fever River Outfitters is a year round sport and recreation rental and outfitter company located in downtown Galena. The funds raised for the triathlon will solely benefit Kreider Services and their mission to serve the individuals of Jo Daviess County.
Course Information:
The triathlon begins with a 6 mile round trip kayak paddle down the Galena River. Participants will start the paddle heading down river for 3 miles before returning upriver for the second half. Following the paddle, participants will exit the river and make their way to the bike station where they will set out on an 18 mile round trip bike route. The route will take contestants through the beautiful Galena countryside on both paved and crushed limestone trails. The course finishes with a 5K run through the Buehler Nature Preserve. The race will begin and end at the same location, Depot Park in downtown Galena.
