LOW KEY MULTI-SPORT ADVENTURE RACE

1 Mile Kayak (instead of swim), 15 mile bike, 3.1 mile run

Purpose: METASTATIC BREAST CANCER RESEARCH

Approximately 30% of persons diagnosed with early stage breast cancer eventually metastasize. 41,000 Americans, including almost 500 men, die annually of the condition in the US. 100% of donations after costs will go for research to extend the lives of women and men diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer.

Additional Information & Event Schedule:

START:  - 8:00am (in 20 minute increments)

Race Divisions Include: Male & Female ages: 5 Year Age Groups, including 15 and under and 70+. Relay Teams Teams must be made up of two or three participating members. Awards will be offered to the overall male and female and overall top relay team.

• The awards ceremony will start at 12 pm.

Course Information:

Kayak:
The Start will be split into three Waves (depending on number of participants) . Racers will make a water start at the Hillsmere Beach and paddle 1 or 2 miles (depending on conditions) around three buoys and finish back at the same spot.. Racers will then transition to their bikes next to the Beach Parking lot. 

Bike:
The 15 mile (three loop) course is on paved, flat residential roads through the Hillsmere community. Racers will enjoy the bay setting and a view of the Chesapeake Bay. Roads will be open to traffic and there is a chance riders may be stopped at the main community intersection to prevent excessive traffic backup (has not happened yet).

Run:
The 3.1 mile run is a scenic two loop run through Hillsmere community. Finish in style, where your fans and cold refreshments will be waiting.


There will be a cutoff for official race results with the race time limit of 2 hours and 40 minutes.
• At 2 hours and 40 minutes the official timed finish line will shut down.
• A time clock will continue running for all participants that finish after the time cutoff.
• It is hoped that all participants will finish the race in less than 2 hours and 40 minutes from their kayak start time.
