_ The 2020 Walloon Lake Sprint Triathlon & Duathlon:
Welcome to TriWalloon, a triathlon staged in the increasingly popular Walloon Village. After two very successful years we are thrilled to be coming back for the fourth annual TriWallon on July 25, 2020. The pristine waters of Walloon Lake are located between Petoskey and Boyne City, Michigan. The event consists of a sprint distance triathlon, duathlon, and aquabike. Our races have proven to be a great event for all, from the beginner athlete who wants to attempt their first triathlon, to the seasoned and elite athletes who race every weekend. Relay teams are also encouraged for the triathlon. Male, female and co-ed are welcomed. This event will make for the ideal destination race for all. Come for the race, stay for the weekend!
The Barrel Back Restaurant and Tommy’s Marina are serving as our gracious hosts for this family-friendly, healthy lifestyle event.
Once again, 100% of the proceeds from this race will go toward the continued work of the inner-city ministry of Bridge Street Ministries. Please visit bsmgr.org for more information about this great mission.
Course Information:
600 Meter clockwise, triangular shaped swim course starting from the docks of Tommy's marina and swimming in the pristine waters of Walloon Lake. You will not find more clear waters for a triathlon!
5K run through the village of Walloon Lake. This course is two loops. The course is essentially flat with a couple of very slight, small rollers.
20K out-and-back bike ride through the rolling hills of the surrounding country roads. No steep grades, but not a lot of flat either. It is a beautiful and very fun ride.
Directions:
Walloon Lake is located between Boyne City and Petoskey.
From lower Michigan, take U.S. 131 North until you reach M-75 / S. Shore Dr. (Not the Boyne City turn.) Turn left (West) on M-75. Continue past Walloon Lake Community Church and stay on M-75, follow the curve to the left and drive approximately ½ mile. The transition area will be on your right, next to the Barrel Back Restaurant and Tommy's Marina.
From the north, take U.S. 131 North until you reach M-75 / S. Shore Dr. Follow the same as above.
