_ The 4th annual Rise up and Dual Saints Duathlon and Kids Triathlon: - CANCELLED

In light of the Coronavirus our event will be cancelled this year. I am sorry for the inconvenience. We plan on having it up and running next year. Until then keep training!

Come join us on Saturday April 4, 2020, for our 4th annual Rise Up and Dual Saints Duathlon and Kids Triathlon. Our course takes place on Santa Maria High School's campus, starting with a 1.5 mile run through the high school campus leading into the pool for the 350 yard swim, and then another 1.5 mile run through the campus. The course is flat and well marked by cones, flags, and students cheering you on! The race also includes a free event T-shirt! Also don't forget your finisher medal when you finish the race! Times and places will be posted within 2-3 days after the event. The last few years we have had a good turn out and hope to have even more people this year!  The kids Triathlon will begin with 4 laps in the pool (100 yards), a 1.5 mile bike ride will follow, and then a half mile run around the track.  All proceeds go to help our aquatic program here at SMHS! Event details and schedule

Packet pick up will be 7:30-8:15am in front of the SMHS pool area.

Race will start at 8:30 am

Kids triathlon will start at 9:45 am or when everyone is done with the Duathlon!

Parking- There is a parking lot on Stowell that will be open for parking and to get to the pool just go straight when you go onto campus from stowell (bus drop off area) we will be set up right next to the pool for registration. There is also parking on Thornburg but it's a little more of a walk to get to the stowell entrance, and of course there is always the JC Penny parking lot across the street.

The Swim- After finishing the first part of the run for the duathlon, participants will enter the water feet first in the shallow end of the pool. The pool course of 350 yards will snake back and forth through the pool with the help of lane lines and will end in the deep end of the pool where you will get out and continue to the last leg of the race which is a 1.5 mile run.
