_ The 2020 Abe's Mini Triathlon:
Abe’s Mini, Pioneer Sprint and Abe’s Tri Challenge Rescheduled to Sept. 19th, 2020.
It’s with great pleasure that we can announce On Line Registration is back open for the Abe’s Mini, Pioneer Sprint and Abe’s Tri Challenge.
As you know we had to cancel the May date due to the COVID-19 issues but based on chats with people in the Endurance Sports Industry we think Sept. events will be allowed.
Therefore Tri Harder will host the events in Sept. with a new start time for Abe’s Mini of 9am and Pioneer Sprint 10am. Abe’s Tri Challenge racers compete in both events with a start time of 9am.
We apologize for the inconvenience but this was so out of our control we are doing our best to accommodate the events and racers.
All details are the same as May except for the new Date of Sept, 19, 2020 and new start times of 9am for Abe’s Mini and 10am for Pioneer Sprint.
Course Information:
The race includes a 100 yard swim in the heated indoor PORTA pool, then a 5 mile bike ride down a flat rural road and finishes with a 1 mile run on a closed course. This event is tailored to the novice triathlete and will serve as a great introduction to triathlon for children and adults.
When you finish the swim you will be able to step into the locker rooms to dry off and change to biking and running clothes if you prefer. The locker rooms are located poolside as you leave the pool. Please get yourself comfortable for the bike and run. We suggest leaving your towel and dry clothes in the locker room while swimming. They will be safe during the swim.
All ages are welcome and Clydesdales, Athenas and teams are encouraged to enter. An awards ceremony will follow after the last runner crosses the finish line. Steve O’Connor is the race director and can be reached by email here .
Racers should tune to 1610 am for the latest race information. Post race showers will be available at the PORTA pool.
