Course Information:

The 1.2 mile swim will be in the pristine waters of Lake Guntersville. The half iron distance triathlon will have wave starts beginning at 7:00 AM Central. Course will follow the buoys in a loop course. The protected waters of Lake Guntersville will have little or no current and should offer a great opportunity for a personal record swim time.

The 56 mile bike makes use of the natural terrain of the area. Scottsboro is located in the Sequatchie Valley in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains. Course will exit Goosepond Colony and bike towards the historic Jackson County Courthouse. Once past the courthouse square, cyclists will head out to the surrounding countryside for a fast ride along rural roads. The bike route will be fairly flat and fast. Map Link

The 13.1 mile run will leave transition and run along the golf course before turning into the campground beginning two 5.3 mile loops. Runners return down Ed Hembree Drive to finish by transition. The run provides views of Lake Guntersville as well as plentiful wildlife. Aid stations will be passed 16 times. Map Link

Sprint race includes a 500 meter Swim, 12 mile Bike & 5K run beginning at 8 AM Central. Swim will be an in-water start at end of pier with a rectangular course & beach exit.
