2020 Proud to DU It- Youth Duathlon: - CANCELLED

YOUTH Duathlon- Can you run and ride a bike? Are you looking for a new challenge? We will have different distances for each age group. Course this year will be in the beautiful Fort Trumbull neighborhood on the water! This is a family friendly event where we encourage all abilities to enter and complete the course. Timing splits will be recorded for all 5 areas and medals will be awarded to every finisher. Music and food will follow. Everyone will run and bike on closed roads/trails. All biking is done on paved roads. Training wheels can be used. Helmets are required for all. One time $10 USAT membership will be added at checkout if you are not already a USAT member. Membership covers all USAT events for the year, including Proud to TRI, Norwich Splash and Dash etc.  

Divisions-

Age group racing for ages 5-6; 7-8; 9-10; 11-12; 13-14; and 15-17 (must not be 18 by 12/31/19) Awards for age group racing is for the top three places in each age division for males and females. SuperSprint is available for ages 11-17. Awards for the SuperSprint will be for the top three males and females overall. This race is for the athletes that want to go farther than the age group distance.

This is one of the three TRIPLE CROWN events. See below for more information on the TRIPLE CROWN. Registration for the duathlon CLOSES online Friday, April 24th at midnight. Deadline to get your name on the bib is April 7 at 10AM.  TRIPLE CROWN WILL OPEN NOV 1st!

Triple Crown Information:  Registration will be taken at this site if you wish to register for all three events.  You must participate in all three to receive the prize. Norwich Splash and Dash- June 13, 2020 ; Proud to TRI- September 12, 2020

Race clinic will be Wednesday, April 22, 5:30-7:00 PM at 1 Chelsea Street, New London. FREE- no pre-registration required. Bring your bike and sneakers.

Packet pickup will be offered at 1) the race clinic, 5:00-7:00 PM 2) in the New London Recreation Office Thursday,  April 23; 8:30-4:00 PM or 3) onsite race morning 7:30-8:30 AM. OPTIONS! If you want to avoid the line, pickup your race packet prior to race day BUT don't forget to bring your timing chip, bib and bike stickers with you .
