_ The 2020 Odyssey SwimRun Les Cheneaux Islands:
Welcome to Les Cheneaux Islands, Cedarville, Michigan! The Les Cheneaux Island Chain is a hidden gem tucked away on the northern shores of Lake Huron. These unique islands form one of the most pristine and hospitable environments for SwimRun in all the midwest. Being about 30-min from the closest airport (to the north) and 30-min from the Mackinac Bridge and Mackinac Island, the Les Cheneaux SwimRun offers something for both athletes, and their families to enjoy.
The course is mostly flat with the exception of a large hills mixed in, which means it’s wonderfully suited to attract beginners to the sport while still being long enough to challenge even the most seasoned swimrunners. The terrain consists of pavement, gravel, dirt, and single track trail running. The entire swim is in the crystal clear gorgeous blue freshwaters of Lake Huron. The depth of the swim is between 6-30’ with most of the swim averaging about 8-12’ deep with visible bottom in many places. Athletes will enjoy entering and exiting the swim via beaches, docks, boat ramps, all beautiful natural shorelines.
This is one of the most beautiful SwimRun courses in the country and something that you will never forget. Do it as a team or solo then stay a few extra days to explore the great lakes in Michigan’s Upper and Lower Peninsulas. There’s nothing like a Pure Michigan summer/fall.
