_ The 2019 South Padre Island Honor Challenge Obstacle Run:

WILL YOU BE MISSION READY?

Storm the beach of South Padre Island this Veteran's Day weekend 2019 by pushing yourself physically and mentally in the South Padre Island Honor Challenge Obstacle Run. The Honor Challenge will take place on November 9th & 10th with two courses... Saturday will be the tougher advance "Front Line" course with a more technical day of 18 obstacles and Sunday will still be a challenge with the novice "Last Stand" course with 12 obstacles! Both courses will be approximately 3 miles total on the South Padre Island beach.

Our purpose is to SUPPORT AND HONOR OUR VETERANS by creating an event that enhances pride and patriotism by building a supportive community around our Veterans! Join us in celebrating and commemorating our nation’s heroes!

The Honor Challenge will benefit the Military Order of the Purple Heart RGV Chapter 1544, an organization that helps local RGV Veterans with immediate needs.

Event details and schedule

The event schedule:

• Week of packet pickup to be determined
• Friday night (11/8) pre-party/packet pickup at Clayton's Beach Bar & Grill
• Saturday and Sunday mornings will have same day packet pickup and
• Saturday and Sunday mornings events will start at 7:30 a.m.

Course info:

• Both days of the South Padre Island Honor Challenge Obstacle Run will take place on the sandy beaches of SPI with an out & back route fill with obstacles.
• Day 1 will have 18 plus obstacles and Day 2 will have 12 plus obstacles
• Total mileage per course will be about 3 miles 

What do I get?
Participants receive a medal per registered course, a t-shirt and one beer (for participants over 21) 

Arrival info: 

• Be sure to arrive 45 minutes prior to your scheduled wave time

Parking info:

• Clayton's Beach Bar & Grill has ample parking, but arrive early as overlow parking will be across the street at the South Padre Island Convention Center

Waivers and ID

• All participants must sign a waiver at registration to participate and ID must be presented for packet pickup

What to bring:

• Bring your ID for packet pickup, a change of clothes & shoes/sandals for after and $$$ for  onsite vendors and to enjoy drinks & food at Clayton's
• We recommend bringing a plastic bag/trash bag for the your race gear after the event

What to wear:

• Comfortable running/sports wear. You will be getting dirty and wet

SPECIAL NOTE
The South Padre Island Honor Challenge Obstacle Run will be happening rain or shine. Because of the logistics of planning for a race of this size, we cannot offer refunds for any reason, other than military deployment (with proof of paperwork). In the event that weather creates an unsafe environment for participants, SPI Honor Challenge Obstacle Run will postpone the event for a few hours or up to a few weeks, if you are unable to run during the new time you will be eligible to transfer your registration to next year event but will not be eligible for a refund.

The safety and integrity of the South Padre Island Honor Challenge Obstacle Run is top priority and will have qualified Emergency workers stationed throughout the race course to insure the safety of every registrant. The course design and obstacle engineering is completed with racer safety as the main goal.
