Youth triathletes in the Long, Intermediate, and Sprint divisions will swim in the beach area at Lake Olathe. The swim will be in the water horizontal to the shore line. The depth of the course will be adjusted for each division so that athletes are able to touch the sand bottom. Lifeguards will be in the water all along the course to provide assistance. The bike course will be entirely within the Lake Olathe park and no vehicular traffic will be allowed on the bike course roadway. The run will be on a paved trail and will feature an exciting bridge run over the lake. The Tots will utilize a shortened version of the youth sprint course and will wade through the water in place of the swim. NOTE: The Jr Elite course will be the same as the adult course and will consist of an open water swim, a bike outside the park, and a run on paths within the park.
