_ The 2019 Garfield Park 5K Walk/Run/Bike:
The 3rd annual Garfield Park 5K Walk/Run/Bike is proud to be part of the Tour de West Side Races. The 5K takes place in the park on a scenic, point-to-point course, during the peak of autumn. It starts on Central Park in front of the beautiful and historic Golden Dome, proceeding west to Hamlin looping around the park going east to Homan Avenue. There are two major ponds, a few curves on the course and small bridge. At the finish line, you will enjoy a live DJ motivating you to cross the finish line, Garfield Park young cheerleaders and a cheering crowd. The event also includes a post-race community festival with local business vendor tables and tents, including a health and wellness free screening tent with HIV testing, barbecue, kid jumping house and yoga. We expect 500 to 1,000 participants, so register early to ensure a spot. We are raising funds to support local not-for-profit businesses in the Garfield area.
