FROM THE RACE WEBSITE:We have been looking into all of our options for the Lavaman after being forced to cancel the 2020 Race due to the Corona Virus. We have explored the possibility of hosting the event later in the year, but due to the uncertainty of the current crisis, this does not appear to be a possibility, without possibly finding ourselves in the same situation a few months down the line..
DISTANCES & RACE DESCRIPTION: Olympic Distance (1.5K Swim, 40K Bike and 10K Run) Swim at Anaehoomalu Bay at the Waikoloa Beach Resort. The Bike ride is out and back on the Queen Ka`ahumanu Hwy. then back into the resort. T1 & T2 are in the same location. The run is through the Waikoloa Beach Resort & the grounds of the Hilton Waikoloa Village and has varied terrain consisting of lava, sand, coral trail, road, lawn, & flagstone path with a beach finish. Trail shoes are recommended over racing flats.
