_ The 2019 Freedom 5K Run/Walk:
This event will take place during 4th of July weekend.
Proceeds from this race will benefit the Pendleton County High School Track Team and raise funds for buses, state meet event, new equipment, and new uniforms.
Event details and schedule
The 5K Run/Walk will start at 8:00 AM, Kid's Mile to follow at 9:00 AM
The start/finish will be at Pendleton County Middle/High School. Please plan to arrive between 7:15-7:45 for packet pick-up and same-day registration.
This course is 3.1 miles of paved road/sidewalk. Runners/walkers will head west on route 33, turn left at the stoplight onto Main Street, take a left at "back street", take a left onto Confederate Avenue. They will then turn right past the health department and follow the loop up and turn right onto Walnut Street and turn left again onto Main Street. Runners/walkers will then go across the low-water bridge and turn right onto Dickenson Mtn Rd. At the high-water bridge runners/walkers will then turn around and run back on Dickenson Mtn Rd and cross the low-water bridge and follow Main Street back to Rte 33 and turn right to run back to finish at the high school.
The kid's mile will be run on the football field behind the high school.
Plenty of parking is available at the middle/high school. Bathrooms will be open at the school.
