_ The 2019 Canton Lobster Fest Ride:
For the first time ever the Farmington Valley Trails Council is partnering with the Canton Volunteer Fire Department, Canton Street Station as they celebrate their 39th Annual Lobster Fest. This is a fundraising event that will benefit both of these non-profit organizations.
The FVTC will host a 30 mile trail ride on Saturday, August 17, 2019. The ride will start/end at the Canton Volunteer Fire Department on Canton Springs Road and will follow the “Loop” riding the trail through Simsbury, Avon, Farmington, Burlington and back to Canton. A portion of this ride is on road.
The ride will start at 9:30 am. Arrive at least ½ hour prior to the start of the ride to check in.
Helmets are required for all riders. Highly visible clothing and lights are recommended.
Event details and schedule
The cost for participation is $30.00. Pre-Registration is required and there are no refunds. This fee will cover your ride and 1 dinner (1 lobster, 1 ear of corn, 1 New England clam chowder and 1 beverage of your choice (beer, soda or water).
Once you have enjoyed your ride and meal, stick around for entertainment that will be ongoing throughout the day.
In the event of inclement weather, the ride will be cancelled via email alert and the FVTC Facebook page, but the Lobster Fest will go on rain or shine. Meals will be honored for only pre-registered participants with tickets on Saturday from 12-9:30 pm. Participants must pick up their ticket between 12:00-1:00 pm from a designated FVTC board member at the Canton VFD station.
Not interested in riding but would like to participate? We are always in need of route marshals and registration table volunteers.
