_ The 2019 Start of Summer 5K and 1mile:
Come join us in the park for a fun race to START SUMMER off right! Out and back loop to the airport with a flat service and plenty of pavement, make this is the perfect 5k to get your summer started! Strollers are welcome! When you finish you'll get a custom medal made locally and a milk (chocolate, strawberry, and the High School favorite: Vanilla!), PLUS a sticker to put on your water bottle or in your office. The pool will be open to help you cool off and top finishers recieve a custom towel.
This race is to raise funds for our Steens Running Camp Runners. Steens is the premier running camp in all of the Northwest and is located in the Steens Mountains in Burns. We have two runners going and it's a heck of a bill to pay. All funds from the race benifit their camp costs. IF we race over that amount then it goes back to Vale XC for our entire team. By supporting these athletes you are supporting the team, as we know they will come back mentally and physically ready to lead us to STATE!
Event details and schedule
This is an evening run so keep in mind there might be mosquitos out. Please bring bug spray. There are events going on in the park to kick off summer so parking could be tricky. Registration opens at 5:30, races start at 6pm.
