Start off the series of kids triathlons for the 2019 year with a fun event for all kids of all abilities! Three divisions for the kids: Tadpole Division, Stingray division, Great White Division.
Tad Pole Division-For the very beginner. A division that is used to get the kids ready to be in a triathlon racing situation. They get to swim the short pool with assistance from flotation devices or a parent, they get to use a bike with training wheels and have a parent escort, and they get to run with a parent a very short race dependent on their abilities (.25 mile, .50 mile or 1 mile) Each kids gets a finishers medal, no age group awards since each person is racing their own race and using their own assistance.
Stingray Division-This division is for the kid that can swim 50 yards without assistance, bike up to 1.5 miles without training wheels and can follow directions course monitors, and can run independently a half mile after the swim and run. Each kid gets a finishers medal and are eligible for age group awards: 6-7, 8-9, 10-11, 12 and up.
Great White Division-This division is for either the older kid who is mature enough to race but has no experience, or has experience. They can swim 100 yards (4 links), will bike 2.5 miles, and run a full mile. Each kid gets a finishers medal and are eligible for overall awards (1st male and female) and age group awards: 6-7, 8-9, 10-11, 12 & up.
